I am asking you to please VOTE AGAINST SB212. This bill will make it next to impossible for the common person to petition our state government. If SB212 is successful it will mean, that if the sponsors of an initiative petition do not gather enough signatures in one (1) of the forty-two (42) assembly districts, the voters in that district can veto what the voters in the other forty-one (41) districts wanted. In these difficult times the government must make it easier for the voice of concerned citizens to be heard, not make it harder. By voting for SB212, you will be allowing another roadblock in a series of roadblocks to stand between the public and a democratic government.
Thank you for your time and again, please vote AGAINST SB212. This bill will kill the most powerful tool the public has to protect its interests outside of our right to vote: the initiative petition and referendum process.
